Annual JALBCA dinner

In 2010, $200K was raised and over 500 people were in attendance at the dinner. Monies raised go to fund mammogram vans in the community as well as educational programming.

Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert is an organization of members of the New York
legal community – both bench and bar – committed to the fight against breast cancer.
Despite all of the strides made in recent years, the statistics with respect to breast cancer are still horrendous. Some 200,000 Americans (mostly women; but some men as well) will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. Some 40,000 Americans will die from breast cancer this year.Worldwide, the figures are even worse. Every 68 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies of breast cancer. This is a fight we cannot walk away from.

JALBCA’s mission is to do all we can to help raise awareness, bring the hope of early
detection to the underserved communities in our area, and fund groups bringing succor to
victims and their families. Our principal investment is in sponsoring mammogram vans
that provide screening and early detection to women who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Early detection saves lives. One of the most promising statistics is that there now is a five year survival rate of 98% when breast cancer is detected early and has not spread from the breast.

The primary source of the funds we contribute to this struggle is our annual dinner, and its accompanying journal. This year, the annual dinner will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, at a new and lovely event space located at 583 Park Avenue in Manhattan.We will be honoring the Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, Chief Administrative Judge of the Courts of New York State and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

The Lawyers’Divison of JALBCA is asking you to become one of our 2012 JALBCA dinner Sponsors. Sponsorship levels are $25,000, $10,000, $7,500, $5,000 and $3,500. All sponsorships include a table for ten guests at the dinner and a full page advertisement in the dinner journal. Sponsorships received before April 15, 2012 will be listed on the dinner invitation.
